Cagnes sur mer, France
The French Riviera! Well, it's absolutely beautiful, but isn't the most comfortable place. Cagnes sur mer is situated between Cannes and Nice along the Mediterranean coast.
We stayed in a studio apartment near a castle on a hill, Haut-de-Cagnes. All of the buildings date to around the 14th century. There were lovely cafes and restaurants alongside tiny apartments throughout the hillside. And a small ville below had markets and bakeries.

Our view was spectacular, we could see the Mediterranean Sea from our front patio, the tiny and quaint streets from our back terrace. And from the town, facing the other direction, are the French Alps.
One of our favorite spots was a jazz club, Le Black Cat, located in the castle itself. One night, a crooner, originally from St. Louis, played and sang jazz. Lola was invited to sing "Summertime" and did a fantastic job. They've booked her for later in the summer, before we return to the states.
[We got a few minutes of footage, but I've yet to capture and post it. Check back for more!]
