Indigenous Voices: "Standing Silent Nation"

dvd_ssn.jpgPlease join me and my friends every last Thursday of the month at Bluestockings Bookstore, 7 pm, for a night of inspiring stories from the experiences of Indigenous Voices from around the world. In the past, we have screened films from New Zealand, North Dakota USA, Australia, Argentina, & Chile. During our very first event in November, we viewed a film about their illegal hemp farm in South Dakota. This film raises important questions about Indigenous sovereignty, environmental action, legal recourse for marginalized communities, and global trade issues. Every month we'll be hosting an event at the bookstore to address issues pertaining to Indigenous sovereignty and the preservation of Indigenous rights and identity. See http://indigenousvoices.wordpress.org for more information. You can also stay updated on Indigenous issues at large by following some of the websites listed below.
